A lorry and a van have collided between junction 22 for Milnrow and junction 23 for Huddersfield. An air ambulance has been known as to the scene, with the stretch between the 2 junctions closed. Highways England mentioned there was a minimum of three.5 miles of congestion.
They mentioned on Twitter: “#M62 westbound J24 #Huddersfield to J22 #Denshaw is now absolutely closed as a result of highway visitors collision. J23 westbound entry slip highway can also be absolutely closed.
“Please plan forward if travelling throughout the pennines this morning.”
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson mentioned: “We received the decision at 7.40am to a highway visitors collision on the M62 westbound, close to junction 22.
“A HGV lorry and a Volkswagen van had been concerned.
“A full closure was put in place and the air ambulance was known as. One male casualty was taken to hospital – the LGI – by air ambulance.”
